I want to help people get familiar with the basics and bring them along from there. I was introduced to socialism quite early, and then drifted away from it because there was more arguing points of doctrine than there was organizing (although there were some very good organizers). When I started to get back into it most people were resistant, like you are, but now people aren't so much. A few people are reading the stuff I link to, and I think somebody subscribed to Jacobin and Dissent. So, you know, baby steps.
One can't really run on that, but one could run on nationalizing the power grid and the health care system. Nationalization is a big stick, and the banks were certainly worried about it in 2008. But socialism is the ultimate goal, and labor is central to it.

I know but you folks aren't talking socialism. You don't want the state owning and operating the means of production.
