Physicist ‘squares the numbers’ on time travel
You perhaps saw something this past week about time travel having been mathematically proved possible, and without creating paradoxes.1 The work was published two years ago; one assumes there’s a reason it’s bubbling up now.
Fourth-year Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) student Germain Tobar has been investigating the possibility of time travel, under the supervision of UQ physicist Dr Fabio Costa.
The pair say they’ve been able to prove in theory that changes to the past will always heal themselves to become consistent with the present whence the traveller came. The example given is someone who travels back in time to eliminate Covid’s patient zero, but will inevitably fail because if the disease didn’t exist in their present, they’d have no reason to travel to the past.
So it’s safe now. You can book your travel without worrying about creating a paradox.
Add This Recession-Resistant REIT To Protect Your Portfolio
I’m not an investor and don’t understand exactly what these people are saying, but I know what they’re talking about: profiting off a particular company heavily invested in medical real estate of the sort discussed elsewhere on this site, where pirate equity firms buy up a practice or clinic or hospital and then sell off the associated real estate and lease it back to the former owners at a profit.
Historically, healthcare has been recession-resistant as demand remains stable even in difficult times. Being a landlord to healthcare operators is even more recession-resistant, as even if a particular tenant struggles, the demand for the service and medical space remains, and the tenant can be replaced.2
There’s always money in the banana stand.
Are these people necessary?
No: no they are not.
Are Surfers Crazed? Why Yes, Yes They Are
Here you see a very small channel from the terminus of the Waimea River to the shoreline of Waimea Bay become a very large channel carrying a powerful torrent from river to sea. So naturally, some of the local guys had to surf the river.3
