Thanks, for the playlist, Kirt. Ten Fé will make an appearance in the Tuesday edition. I sometimes listen to an algorithmic playlist in the car, and of course the ketamine playlist, but for writing it's always full albums. Lanegan's "Bubblegum" is a favorite.
Is it a good thing, validating thoughts of Arendt's nightmare?
A good thing? No. I think many people optimistically hoped that education would inoculate people from propaganda, but we obviously weren't reading Arendt closely enough. When Bannon talked about polluting the information field, he had obviously been a more conscientious student of Arendt's on the technical side of things.
But of course he ignored all the ethics.
PS Sheryl and I will be seeing Scott Bradley's Postmodern Jukebox next month. They're worth checking out, if you don't know them yet
❤️ The press are not dead, but they stink like it. ❤️
Every so often I tear off a good one.
My son/wife/friend wanted to know what I was listening to and I copied my "on repeat" spotify playlist. FWIW: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2KOTzFT14S5iSfymrjBrhc?si=cfe967de248d4fa3
It feels like the world right now is Hannah Arendt's nightmare. It's very validating to read your commentary.
