That’s the Mississippi Delta. Mississippi is at the bottom of the health care heap, helping to propel the sordid U.S. health care indicators in comparison with other countries, and one of the 10 states still holding out on the Medicaid expansion that was the best feature of Obamacare.

The state has received national attention for its health care failings before, most recently in connection with the combination of abortion restrictions and piss-poor social welfare and pre-natal and post-natal care for women and children.
