A lot of people work in the insurance industry. Throwing them all out of work would present some political problems, no? Consider the attitudes of petroleum and coal workers and the political repercussions of putting them out of jobs. I'm not suggesting that their interest should prevail but I am suggesting that accomplishing medicare for all isn't just a matter of logic.

Both the Conyers and Sanders plans include serious assistance for insurance industry workers, many of whom would be, if they wanted, picked up by Medicare to help with the additional 160,000,000 plan participants. The primary victims would be industry executives and media ad sales buyers and sellers.

If logic were the thing, Jack, other than the logic of profit and bribery, we would have had it before I was born and it'd be one less thing for me to write about.
