Socialists did okay Tuesday. The two Milwaukee socialists who won their Democratic primaries ran unopposed for their Wisconsin House seats in the general election,1 although you’ll be hard-pressed to find much contemporaneous reporting about that. Probably some of the socialist websites will have a roundup soon.
Democratic Socialists of America endorsed community organizer Summer Lee for Congress, and she won handily. She joins Congress from her seat in the Pennsylvania House. Other DSA-endorsed candidates are going to Congress as well, and Bernie Sanders has gained a new Senate ally in John Fetterman, who despite suffering a stroke flipped a Republican seat by beating a disgraced dietary supplement salesman from a neighboring state.2
Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush and Ilhan Omar all won reelection with 70% or more of the vote, as did the somewhat more conservative Ayanna Presley.
State and local victories will be the more significant in the long run, if we have one, but it’s nice to see the little socialist hui expanding in the House.
We just returned from an appointment with the ophthalmologist, who has made our pupils the size of a cat’s in the dark, only it’s not dark out and it hurts. The light it burns it burns. More on the socialism thing tomorrow. Apologies for the truncation

That, comrades, is all we got. Take care, be well.
