On the idiotic mistake made by voters switching to Trump or not voting at all, thus enabling Trump, it's hard to know where to begin. Just like sports teams and their fans who disdain playing defense because it isn't sexy, voters refusing to play defense because it isn't inspiring bring about the deepening of their misery. It's beyond stupid but seems firmly entrenched in the eligible voting public.
Begin by comparing it to a party full of alleged human rights advocates finding it impossible to give up their support for a genocide no matter the cost, and lauding or demanding the suppression of free speech exclusively for anti-genocide protestors. How hard is it to vote against trump? versus how hard is it to just not be a mass-murdering monster? or even how hard is it to forgo the inside trading while regular people are struggling? Playing defense isn't what's not sexy; it's playing defense by supporting people who are obviously fucking depraved. High expectations of voters, no expectations of the people they're supposed to be voting for.
Anyway, we've had this discussion before. You ask me, it's a miracle as many people turn out as do, and that the Bidenaires got so close this time despite everything they did to alienate people and fuck up the campaign.
Somehow I don't think you have explained how enabling Trump has improved anything and I can't believe you really assert that they're all the same so why bother to vote.
I wasn't asked, haven't tried to demonstrate, and don't think enabling Trump has improved anything; only that when a party presenting themselves as the party of not-horrors insist on running horrible people whose policies have left the vast majority of voters choking on the dust of their betters speeding down the road up ahead, and you throw a little genocide and repression on top of it, you're eventually going to run out of defense. When you lose two out of three falls to the worst guy in the world, you really have to look past voters just being dumb.
Well there's that, but the Bidenaires kept insisting that everybody was doing great when not everyone was, and there was the genocide thing. People really don't like being told that what they're experiencing or seeing isn't what they're experiencing or seeing. And with Clinton you not only had somebody who was unpopular going in, but who had taken millions of dollars from criminal organizations that caused an economic meltdown from which a lot of people, including many of her prospective constituents, had yet to recover. But the banks were fine. Hey, you're doing great, what a recovery ladies and gents, and me and my friends have all this money to prove it.
So yeah, there's all sorts of shit that plays into an election, but the party and the candidates are ultimately responsible for getting enough votes, and as I said, when they fail twice against this malevolent rancid turnip, you can't not hold them responsible.
