Bad Crow Review: Sadism Saturday
In which seeing Nazis and ilk back on Twitter gets under our skin
Yr. editors are aware today is Sunday but since we sent out the Sunday Slacker edition yesterday, doing a Saturday edition today seems only right.
Jew haters, Holocaust deniers and racists of all stripes are proliferating on Twitter again.
One of the milder examples, from a post a few days ago. We’re seeing hashtags such as #jewhater, #hitlerwasright, #holocaustwasgood, and so on, mostly from accounts no more than a month old.
Another of the more mild examples. This account, with “Jew hater” in the bio, was determined by Twitter not to have violated the prohibition on hate speech.
And this from the same guy is okay too:
A-okay with Elon:
You can say pretty much anything about Jews other than that you want to stick us all in an oven. Ah well.
Jews, Jews, Jews. We want our Jew dividend.
Anyway. Starting to think the guy is resigned to losing a billion a year on Twitter and just wants to have the sort of fun that a really rich fella who grew up in apartheid South Africa and kinda misses it would have on a global communications platform.
In other news, we watched some football with the sound muted and that last album by Barney Wilen playing. A much-improved commentary experience, but in the end you’re still watching football.
Shakey Graves, “Roll the Bones X;” Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, “The Difference Between Me & You;” Art Pepper Quintet, “Smack Up;” Harry Babasin & Bob Enevoldsen, “Jazz in Hollywood;” Barney Wilen, “Quintet.”
That, comrades, is all we got.
Seems like just another good reason to stay off twitter. Watching football is not a sin, even without good music.
So there's some advantage to not being the best.
